A long-time favorite upper West side restaurant, Sambuca serves
Southern Italian food, family style. It offers a warm atmosphere, an
extremely helpful staff, and a great gluten-free/wheat-free menu
which is available in the dining room, for delivery, take-out and
catering, as well as for private parties.  The menu includes delicious
salads, appetizers, 15 different pasta preparations, a variety of
chicken, veal steak, seafood and vegetable dishes, as well as
homemade gf bread and chocolate brownies! There is a kids’ food

in the recipe section. This restaurant is highly recommended by
many gluten-intolerant people, including the author.  Try their Pasta
Fra Diavolo and their Pasta al Pesto.

Many of the gluten-free products are provided by Maxwell's
Kitchen.  Although Sambuca is not an an exclusively gluten-
free/wheat-free environment, they have worked closely with the
Gluten-Free Restaurant Awareness Program, and their chef and
food prep staff have been trained accordingly.
